The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is undertaking an upgrade of its traffic signal and PXO infrastructure, transitioning from incandescent to LED technology. Previous projects have converted approximately half of the Municipality's traffic signal lamps from incandescent to LED; this project will include completing the conversion of Chatham-Kent's traffic signals to LED as well as converting beacons and lighting at several Level 1 Type A PXOs from incandescent to LED. The scope of work includes the removal of outdated equipment, installation of new LED signals light components, and integration with the current traffic control system at 19 intersections and other locations. The upgrade aims to enhance visibility, improve safety, reduce energy consumption, and lower maintenance costs, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient traffic management system |
