| Description: |
The Public Utilities Commission for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is inviting proposals for the services of qualified accurate, timely and financially responsible consulting engineering services associated with completing a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment to review the Wallaceburg Water Treatment Plant. The basic objective for the Municipality to issue the Request for Proposal (RFP) is to encourage a competition among consulting engineering firms to carryout a Class EA and preliminary designs for an energy efficient, state of the art water treatment plant that is easily sustainable to the local population. The proposed plant, once constructed, would replace the existing water treatment plant (WTP) to meet the current and future needs of Town of Wallaceburg and the neighbouring communities, while also satisfying the industrial demands. As a part of this project, the CK PUC would also like the respondents to investigate the possibility of meeting the demands of (North) Chatham-Kent water distribution system (WDS). Additionally, the study would also entail investigating the need to relocate the existing intake and water availability in the Sydenham River to meet the future demand of the WDS. A piped intertransfer between two pressure zones (ie North Chatham Kent WDS (Dresden/Eberts) and Wallaceburg WDS) during an emergency is also included in the scope. Respondents will also review the condition of the interconnection to the Lambton Area Water Supply System (LAWSS) water system to the Wallaceburg WDS. The CK PUC would appreciate a response from your firm in the form of a proposal identifying expression of interest, qualifications, relevant related experience, company methodology, corporate philosophy and cost to successfully complete works associated with this project. |
