The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is inviting proposals for the delivery of housing-focused community outreach services and encampment support services throughout the Municipality of Chatham-Kent to ensure that homeless individuals and families are known, recorded, and connected with community services. Outreach support services will be provided in the community, at encampments and/or at a physical drop-in space.  The purpose of this program is to create connections and make referrals to supports and services within the community.

 The intention of community outreach services is to assist in building trusting relationships and to work with homeless individuals and families, meeting them where they’re at and assisting them to access appropriate services.  The goal is to have a community partner provide these services alongside municipal staff in a coordinated fashion.  This successful proponent will also provide culturally-safe and appropriate services to Indigenous community members.

 The initial contract will begin April 1, 2026, for a period of two years with the possibility of an additional two-year extension.
